Folsom Street Events - FY 2007 Achievements
Event Planning and Production
- Introduced a thriving fourth fetish event, Bay of Pigstm over Up Your Alley weekend
- Produced a sold-out Magnitude event (for 2,100+ attendees)
- Received positive community feedback on all four events
- Received minimal complaints from community members
- Sold out of Exhibitor booths for both UYA and FSF
- Engaged women's community on an ongoing basis, forming a Women's Committee
- Improved flourishing Women's Area at FSF with more space and programming
- Introduced an Artist's Area at FSF for up to 12 artists, specializing in the erotic arts
- Attracted big name entertainers to FSF, including Imperial Teen, Kelly, and Ladytron
- Strengthened recycling/composting program, achieving superb diversion rates at both fairs
- Responded effectively to fair medical emergencies with no ambulance calls at FSF
- Produced extremely successful Beneficiary Awards Reception
- Managed positive community relationships with City agencies (e.g. SFPD, DPT, SFFD, and DPH), businesses, and other entities (e.g. Folsom Dore Apartments)
- Continued additional planning to expand UYA footprint (for 2008)
Fundraising and Marketing
- Managed valuable LA Leather, IMsL, and CLAW sponsorships
- Created new relationships to market and promote events (IN LA, SF Bay Guardian)
- Increased sponsorship income by 27%, helping to underwrite event expenses
- Secured 95% sponsor return rate (for 2008)
- Generated record beer sales for UYA and FSF
- Generated record gate donations for UYA and FSF
- Tripled net income for Magnitude, helping to significantly increase charitable giving
- Produced an exceptional FSF Program Guide
- Continued national distribution of FSF Program Guide into 50 metropolitan markets
- Received 83% increase in GFTA support for arts programming at FSF
- Maximized UYA and FSF poster and palm card distribution, locally and nationally
- Photographed and designed a highly successful FSF poster image
- Attracted major media market coverage from CNN, Fox News, and others
Operations
- Organized an office move within the South of Market neighborhood
- Maintained accurate inventory of storage facility
- Maintained a new credit card processing for improved financial operations
- Executed a successful Beneficiary structure (Major and Supporting levels)
- Introduced new Exhibitor guidelines within the application process
Giving
- Introduced National Community Grants Program supported in part by TitanMen/Folsom Fund
